Sado Island Gold and Silver Mines (Japan)

Cynthia Dunning Thierstein travelled to Japan in November 2013 for an expert meeting with Christopher Young (English Heritage) and Guo Zhan (China) on the UNESCO World Heritage nomination of "Sado Island Gold and Silver Mines". The aim of the meeting was to advise local stakeholders on the outstanding universal value, criteria, selection of components and global comparisons of the nomination.
