International regatta of prehistoric logboats in Wangen (Germany)

2021

In 2020, the prehistoric logboat regatta was scheduled to take place in Wangen on Lake Constance (Germany), ending the journey that started in Biel (Switzerland) and held in Attersee (Austria), Lake Aiguebelette (France), Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Lago di Ledro (Italy). If the regatta scheduled for May 13-16, 2020 could not take place because of COVID-19, a symposium was held from March 16-19, 2020. This resulted in the construction of four new logboats. This regatta has been postponed until May 13-16, 2021. Because of Corona, this regatta did not take place either. If the situation gets better, it may be organised later this yera.

There will also be a regatta at the Greifensee in the canton of Zürich on the 11th and 12th September 2021, marking the 10th anniversary of the inscription of the "Prehistoric Pile dwellings around the Alps" as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
