Stories of migration. From the past to the present

The swiss society is a society of migration. However, few narratives provide a long-term perspective on this subject, and children rarely have the opportunity to express their personal viewpoints on it. This project aims to highlight the importance of past and present migrations for Switzerland, with and for children living in Switzerland, by combining their personal stories and archaeological approaches. Participatory workshops conducted in classrooms allow for the exploration of both past movements of population, which contributed to the social and cultural construction of Switzerland, and the mobility journeys of children, at various scales, which are also integral to today’s Switzerland. These "child-centered" stories will be made accessible to everyone through the joint production of a bilingual podcast (French and German). This project will be carried out during the 2025-2026 school year.

This project is developed in collaboration with Audiosensible and is supported by the Swiss federal grant for integration.
