Ludivine Marquis joined ArchaeoConcept in August 2022 as an archaeologist and scientific collaborator. With a degree in archaeology and ethnology from the University of Neuchâtel, she works for ArchaeoConcept on projects to enhance archaeological sites, mainly in the canton of Bern. For example, she contributed to the creation of the Freizeitpfad Hasenburg, an online site inviting visitors to discover the archaeological treasures of the Schaltenrain hill.
In parallel with her work at ArchaeoConcept, she has been working for 15 years at the NMB Nouveau Musée Bienne as curator of the archaeology department. Here she has developed a way of thinking that builds bridges between the past and the present: archaeology acts as a mirror of our society, and representations of the past are a reflection of our society today. This reflective view of the discipline influences her approach to cultural mediation, exhibition design and, more broadly, the enhancement of heritage, through a constant search for interdisciplinary dialogue, drawing on contemporary art and history.
