This fall, ArchaeoConcept propected together with the company History Projects the Schaltenrain between Ins and Brüttelen (BE)
As part of the enhancement of the archaeological landscape of the Schaltenrain and in particular of the Burg Fenis and the Hallstatt cemeteries of the Grossholz initiated by the Pro Fenis Hasenburg association, ArchaeoConcept and History Projects undertook non-intrusive surveys of the entire hillside this autumn and winter. This work began with research in the archives, in cartography and on lidar images. A second stage took place in the field as soon as the trees lost their foliage. We discovered some unknown gravemounds and many discreet topographic elements could finally be understood. We hope to develop a pluridisciplinary research project on the area in the future.
